A touch of traditional
The clients came to Gramophone in search of a solution for their open media space. The space was currently being used as a playroom for their young children, and they wanted to turn it into an area that the entire family could enjoy. Their wish list for the new multi-purpose room included a bar, game table, and theater with seating for 6-8. The new bar and gaming tablespaces were defined by decorative lighting and architectural columns as well as new custom furniture from California House and Amisco. The theater area is also characterized by new decorative columns and lighting fixtures as well as custom acoustic panels. A riser was built to allow for a second row of seating in the theater area and trimmed with solid richly stained wood. A beautiful new patterned carpet was installed on the riser and stairs. It coordinates very well with the client's existing flooring and pulls in the accent colors used throughout the rest of the space. Eight new motorized leather theater chairs, each with their own USB outlet, provide a comfortable seat for all of the members of this family and then some. Custom built-in cabinets for equipment storage and a beautifully stained screen wall round out the theater space to give this transitional space a touch of traditional flair.
