No, really. That’s not marketing jargon or hyperbole, they mean it matter-of-factly.
From conception, in order to bring any real value to an already saturated market, Theory needed to be different. They also knew that they could service the premium end of the market like no other company could, not only in terms of performance, but also, design. So if they could offer something truly different, and fill the void that exists at the premium end of the market, they could make an impact; to actually offer something new and valuable.
And thus, in 2018 Theory was born.

Founded by Paul Hales, a consumer and professional audio industry veteran with more decades of experience than he’d care to admit, Theory intends to disrupt the status-quo.
By marrying product development principles from consumer and professional audio segments, combined with extensive application of advanced materials and digital signal processing, we have created a small but immensely capable family of products that will consistently provide the highest performance available for premium installations.

Better Transducers, Superior Performance and Reliability
Every Theory loudspeaker driver is engineered from the ground up for the specific intended application. By taking control of transducer development, we are able to apply greater attention to detail, employ advanced materials and optimize each design in ways that would not be possible with “off-the-shelf” components.
Theory full-range speakers employ low-frequency diaphragms made from specially-treated carbon fiber which eliminates resonances in the passband and adds increased weather resistance. The sound is clean, clear and detailed, and the diaphragms are nearly indestructible.
High-Output In-Wall Loudspeaker System
The iw25 fully-enclosed in-wall loudspeaker is the remarkable sb25 model, with a mechanical enclosure to adapt it to in-wall mounting. All of the sb25’s performance attributes remain: robust, wide-bandwidth and dynamic sound with uncanny accuracy and naturalness. The ability of the iw25 to fill large spaces with full-bodied, thrilling sound is shocking. Finally big sound in background and foreground applications does not have ugly, or even visible!

The iws12-9 install subwoofer employs a high-power, 1400W, 4” voice-coil long-throw driver in a compact enclosure that is easy to place within any commercial environment. The bass it provides belies intuition, extending deeper than seems possible, with tight, tuneful expression. It’s the perfect complement to Theory Professional full range speakers to create a truly astonishing high-energy environment.
