Breakfast - Conestoga Tile: Large Format Gauged Porcelain Tile

Presented by Panaria Group USA (AIA - 1 LU, IDCEC - 1 CEU) Porcelain tile has gained in popularity due to its superior performance characteristics such as strength, resistance to stains, and durability. This course will explore the latest advancement in porcelain – Large Format Gauged Porcelain Tile and Panels. Ranging in size from 24”x48” up to 48”x110”, Gauged Porcelain panels allow large surfaces to be covered quicker and easier with minimal joint grout lines, creating a clean, consistent appearance. Participants will learn about how these products are manufactured, their various design applications, and environmental benefits.

Scandinavian design, it's influence on furniture being produced all over the world including the US. I will discuss the purpose of the design and the elements involved in making this type of furniture unique and beautiful.

Lunch - Sub-Zero Group Mid-Atlantic: Kitchens of The Future

(CEU-1 LU/HSW) Healthy, sustainable and connected. Kitchens have been trending toward the desire of consumers eating healthier and designing with healthy building materials. This course will share ideas and benefits for creating the best kitchen space possible while being connected. The future of kitchen design will help to change how we interact in our personal homes and kitchen spaces, whether entertaining or for an individual.

Vertical Connection: Carpet 101

By Judy Boitz, Territory Manager for Fabrica, DH Floors, and TRUCOR This covers essential insights into carpet construction, installation, and maintenance. It explains the differences between machine-tufted, hand-tufted, and woven carpets, details fiber types like nylon, polyester, and wool, and discusses dyeing methods and carpet styles such as loop, LCL, and cut pile. The session also addresses installation challenges like pattern matching and seaming, post-installation concerns including cleaning schedules and warranty care, and defines terms like shading, pile reversal, and wicking, while offering tips on vacuuming and the role of CFAs (Cuttings for Approval).

In this course, we will examine three key elements of Human Centric lighting - quality of light, natural light and personalized control. In addition to this, we will talk through key design considerations and smart technologies, while sharing best practices for human centric lighting designs.
